    Why should accessing form fields do SQL escaping? What if you aren't using SQL? Shell escaping is different. Or what if you're using a database that escapes strings differently than MySQL? (yes, believe it or not, there are other database servers).

    If there is auto SQL escaping taking place, it should be right where it's needed, in the db layer.

    The logo is a transparent png with the filter applied to IE browsers versions 6 and 5.5. It appears correctly when viewed with ie7 installed via ies4linux.

    I'm sure you'll be happy for that feature the day you need to drive your wife/girlfriend/daughter to the hospital while drunk.

    On my laptop, the stuff that works works better than on windows, but the stuff that doesn't just doesn't work at all. Luckily, that's down to just the integrated SD reader and the modem (and I think there might be a driver for the modem now, but I just don't care) Nearly all of it worked out of the box too, where windows missed all but the generic kb/mouse/vga drivers.

    However, I've babysat far too many Linux installs at the LUG to guarantee *anything*!

    The point of giving IE away for free is to keep users tied to the windows platform. The web browser has the potential to make the platform irrelevant (think gmail, google office, etc). The only way that MS can keep windows in the picture is to make it required via IE.
