And lets not forget that the first thing the states did after kicking out the british was to invade the phillipines. Shall we mention UCITA (american), DMCA (american)? No government is perfect. Yes the libel laws here in the UK are restrictive, but that hardly counts as rights being trampled on. Frankly I'm glad you won't be coming to the Lake District.

Not really, petty criminals get put in jail. The real criminals get knighthoods, elected president etc. Depends on the country your in.
