Not true. Fernandes guitars can pack Fernandes sustainer pickups as used by mr. Robert Fripp and others. They're basically like having an e-bow built in to the guitar with much nicer tone and sustain controls. They're also the base guitars for some of the nicest fretless guitars available. Check out http://www.fretlessguitars.com to see a nice hack of the standard electric guitar.
