funny you should mention hangovers. i actually read this review this afternoon while i was extremely hungover and i found it to be insightful and well written!
i have to agree with the above statement. linux is a fantastic OS. it is also still very hard for an average user to install linux, the same is true for that average user and Windows 2000. i still remember years ago trying to install NT 4 for the first time, what a nightmare.
i also feel that linux won't be ready for primetime on the desktop until an original desktop manager emerges that not only is easy to use, but gives linux its own look and feel. Ximian GNOME seems to be headed in somewhat the right direction, but can you trust a company that is in bed with the enemy? war makes for strange bed fellows i suppose.
