Maybe it's just because their copy-protection scheme are getting better. I know a lot of people who used to copy Windows CD's until XP, which they for some reason couldn't.
This would make their marketshare stagnant and their income rising.
I tried it and got the same checksum every time (Tried both checksums 4 times). I'm using a AMD K6-2 on an Asus P5A-B motherboard (uses Alladin (Ali1xxx) with a Quantum Fireball ST3.2A.(UDMA 2). Don't know the transfer rates.
Here in Belgium, Zip drives and SparQs cost the same. Which one is better in my opinion? 100MB vs 1GB? My SparQ is a lot faster then my Zipdrive too. I've had a lot of trouble with my Zipdrive so far, and NO problems with my SparQ. The only thing good about Iomega is their marketing. In the shop where I bought my SparQ, NOONE was looking at the equally priced SparQ. They were all buying Zips. Can't understand that... I sure hope Syquest will survive...

DCOM is still in heavy use and AFAIK it's using DCE.
