We don't need Microsoft Office on Linux. What we need is a good office suite on Linux. I have been a diehard Word user since the DOS days, but I have recently gotten very annoyed with the fighting I have to do with Word in order to format my documents the way I want to. And this is after I turn off AutoFormat!
We definately need to put the Hello World program on there in as many different languages as possible. Then again, maybe we should change it to say "Hello Universe."
You're absolutely right, which is why they should put (hard-anodized metal) records in the time capsule like they did on the Voyager (?). Any society with enough technology to retrieve the space capsule would be able to figure out records.
Then again, I guess they could try to include a solar powered CD player and schematics.
They couldn't just fire him, because they needed to file a suit against a John Doe in order to get the subpoena to have Yahoo release the information on worker bee.
Of course, I'm confused as to why the suit wasn't placed against "worker bee" originally.
Breaking into computers systems has always been part of the term hacking (as long as it has related to computers). However, not all hacking is breaking into computers.
Intel cannot "overclock" their own chips. It isn't logically possible. What Intel can do is ship a batch of 1.13GHz chips that are sub-par (which is what appears to have happened). Intel's customers are the only ones that can overclock a chip, because overclocking a chip is altering it to run at a rate that is above the manufacturer's quality standards.
They also have them at a CD store in the mall near my house. But, I wouldn't say that is the same thing as what is being researched at MIT. It sounds like it's different in concept, or at least scale.

Audio greatness from MIT!

What well-respected audio company got it's start at MIT? Bose!
Is Bose a sponsor in this effort? The audio projection trick sounds a lot like Bose's bouncing audio off of walls and the like. And Mr. Bose is a grad of MIT.
Who said they considered Italy an advanced country? This is the same country that had a porn star elected to office because she campaigned in the nude.
English will be the dominant language for worldwide communication. Especially on the Internet, which we (Americans) developed and contribute to more than any other culture.
Prince runs his own label now. He finally freed himself from his contract with Warner Brothers. His first album away from them was Emancipation which is extremely good.
Courtney Love is actually very intelligent, at least when dealing with things that she knows about: music.
I like buying physical media. However, I don't like paying high prices for CDs. The only way I'll pay more than $12 for a CD is if it is out of print. If CDs were priced at $10, I'd buy quite a bit more of them than I do now.
Maybe you should buy some of Prince's new CDs. He fought to get out of the grasp of Warner Bros. Records and now he's not doing so great. I bought his Emancipation CD set which was very good, but I haven't been impressed with any of his later stuff. Maybe he's got some other people on his label???
You must be talking about Sony & Panasonic being two major giants in the mediocre-consumer-electronics industry. None of the high quality AV equipment comes from Japanese companies... or at least none from the top of my head.
The only thing I have ever bought from Sony (other than CDs and DVDs) is a PlayStation and P.O.S. alarm clock.
They'll probably all be called Mario^3, Marioworld^3, Mario Kart^3, Mario Golf^3, and etc. Nintendo always uses the system name's modifier to modify the names of their games.

There won't be a Y60K bug, the next problem with storing years would be Year 100,000.

Microsoft just buys these companies out to either enter the market, or reduce the threat of competition.
Didn't you ever see Bill Gates "buy out" Homer Simpson?

Mercedes-Benz (perhaps a under different name back then) built the first car. Ford built the first car via an assembly (sp?) line.

Those sounds systems are about forcing others to hear the music. They wouldn't go for anything that couldn't be heard outside the car.

You need to work on ripping any functionality having to do with SDMI out of it first!
