I have to read slashdot during the night if I want to be among the first to see the articles and I'm lucky if I get second last post if I visit slashdot during the day.

You know that's a load of crap....your ethernet card will max out at 1.5 Megabytes/s. Thats Assuming he has a 10Mbps card right? He might be using a 100Mbps card and that could do 12.5 MB
