the fingerprint of the fake "google.com" cert created by the dhs would have a different fingerprint than the real "google, com" cert .

    correct?

if "google.com" would post their fingerprint somewhere on their site, then we, the users, could verify it. and then we would immediately notice a fake man-in-the-middle cert,

    correct?

and maybe this process of checking the fingerprint could be semi-automated. and then even self-signed certificates would not be an issue anymore.

this is what mozilla could've done - a version number which is used by extensions (4.0, 4.0.1, 4.1.0, 4.1.1, etc.) and an external version number for marketing purposes: Firefox 5, Firefox XT, Firefox ME, etc.

this is one thing that I believe Microsoft has done right.

version numbers have a meaning - my opinion is that people who say "get over the version numbers" do not have a clue what meaning they have.

I dare to suggest that if Clinton would have stayed on, the debt ceiling would not have risen to the heights where it is now.

In the last two years of the Clinton administration the debt ceiling did not have an upward trend. We will never know of course what could've happened.

And - from my personal experience - Americans were much happier during the Clinton administration than they are now and have been for the last ten years.
