Nothing has changed in windows recording. I am still able to capture anything played through my soundblaster x-fi. Right click on the volume control and select recording devices. Select "What you hear" as the source. Capture away. Not all that complicated Sound captured with Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge. PS windows 7 is a tremendous step forward in UI design imo
