ok we know that linus has promoted free, as in love, software by having a child but the main question remains to all of us is will he continue with on with this promotion of the open source model and allow all of us access to his childern and modify them in ways that will benefit the community? i think this is what should be on the fore front of all of our minds and of concern. i dabbling in the field of genetics feel we should have been involved sooner in this project earlier than we have been. btw congrats linus keep them coming hope she makes her daddy proud.
ummm that is nice but the ping will still hit the box itself. i am sure that any admin from one of the big 3 networks will agree with me here. you can filter all and block the whole universe but it will still hit your router or box or what have you and still knock you out. hitting a 5 meg link with a 45 megs worth of data something has got to give after a while and that 5 meg link is going down no matter what you firewall or block.
well this depends on the level you want to teach unix at and i may be flamed for saying this *BUT* i used it and found it was a good set of books to use. it is the UNIX for dummies books. they are vendor and distro neutral and they give you some background on UNIX and also put it in a language that well anyone can understand. i am not sure if this is the exact thing you are looking for but it was useful for me and pretty basic for those that aren't UNIX savy and it has some linux stuff in it now. also the book will say for bsd or system V systems.

rammstein is a metal/industrial band
if you want real goth bands try stuff like death cult, southern death cult, bahaus, switchblade symphony, rosetta stone and many more. if you want to find real goth pick up a box set by cleopatra call "the goth box" it has all REAL goth bands. you will notice that NIN, rammstein or marilyn manson are NOT on that box set because they are not goth.
i found one label with some good bands on it that i listen to. they are called projekt. they are mostly gothic/darkwave stuff but really good i recommend lycia and a blacktape for a blue girl
