presuming you have some linux experience (else you might not find your way around it), awesome windows manager is a great solution and can definetely do what you want.
it features 9 "tags" - virtual desktops basically, but is completely configurable via a lua script. each monitor will automatically be controlled without difficult setup and it worked "out of the box" for me - except for the laborious install process;)
if we did this, shortly AIs would behave like humans. isn't the idea to make them rather smart WITHOUT the human errors such as greed, the drive to procreate and selfishness? any AI that approaches human intelligence needs to be restricted from such things so it does its job rather than being restricted by being busy satisfying its needs. if, for example, an AI was preoccupied ensuring it was not shut down, it could decieve plans that might even be disadvantageous to humans - theoretically (i realize this becomes very iRobot - like).
dont now why some people are so inflexibel as to not be able to imagine a machine that really thinks like us? why should it not be possible, given that our brain is just a lump of atoms in a very, very intricate order? then, if that was true, that AI could, like humans, be bothered with the eternity of space, its dimensions, or the "afterlife" as some people do, that are overly immersed in religion.
certainly a shame that this great resource is offline (have downloaded many a byte there). however, it seems pretty naive to simply backup BETWEEN the servers. hm, anyhow, an effort has to be made to try to recover the data since there is really good stuff up there.
would be interesting to hear how he/she/they got in?
