"X-Box is basically a N64 with even less Japanese support"

xbox has more games out, and being developed for it than GameCube.

Microsoft isn't in this for the quick buck; This was a long term commitment, and in the end, I don't see Microsoft losing.

I'll take NFL Fever or 2K2 over Madden any day of the week.

To be completely honest, I'm glad this happened (to a point). Now Microsoft will really have to work on Sega to get their sports games online.

The reason the sales were bad is because that game sucked.

That's all. You sure you played it?

When I had the choice of buying a PlayStation 2 or an xbox, the big decider was....

Why would I pay $300 for old hardware?

It came down to that, of course after reviewing the games and testing the controller.

If you honestly think that xbox is going down this easy, you're wrong. I'm converting a sony fanboy every day.

You show people Halo, Jet Set Radio Future, or Gunvalkyrie, and suddenly.... PS2 seems like playing the "outdated" system....

The Playstation Controller has NEVER been comfortable, and I'm SICK of people saying that.

Does it look ergonmic at ALL?

At least the xbox controller actually fits hands bigger than a five year old's.

    The gameplay is outstanding.

Getting in a vehicle and firing the gun while your buddy drives, and your other buddy shoots out of the passenger seat is something I've wanted to do since forever on a video game. Also, being able to always pick up guns and grenades from dead soldiers is sweet. The music is great, the levels are great, everything about this game is absolutely shwweeeet.

The graphics are unbelievable, and if you really want to make a comparision to N64 on this game, then you've never really played Halo.

Maybe some people are still jealous that Halo won game of the year. I guess those reviewers didn't know what they were talking about either.

Heh, you're not only a sony fanatic, but you're also wrong. :)

Gamecube and xbox graphics looks similar. Xbox does win out in the end though.

PS2 isn't even close to either of these previously mentioned machines. I'm still not even sure it looks better than my Dreamcast yet.

That still doesn't make you right.

There is more shelf space for the sony products because it has been out longer (and could we say, outdated now, too?).

    Simple as that.

Project Ego. Peter Molyneux(SP)'s baby will blow everybody away.

Halo is much better than GTA3. I just don't understand why people continue to rant about that game. It's fun for about a week of playing, and then it gets shelved until a month later. Now it gives me headaches. I wonder how much EB is paying for it....

Have you even thought about playing Halo online? Thanks to the folks at xboxconnector.com, we xbox owners have a great app to play games online (MUCH less laggy than gamespy). Play Halo Online against sixteen people (with four of your friends right there at your house), and you'll see a bit of the potential that you are completely dismissing.

And like said earlier, Jet Set Radio Future and Gunvalkyrie are incredible titles. As long as xbox continues to get games like this, I'll keep buying them. I've converted many PS2 owners.

All it takes is a cooperative mission on Halo to convert the diehard PS2 fan to an xbox supporter.

I'm sorry that this turned into this argument, but really, this is ridiculous.

I have no problem with Linux/Unix. I've messed with it for about four years. I think it is great for what is built for (servers) and that is about it.

The EASIEST installation (Mandrake, I've found) is still almost impossible for the average person to use. I mean, unless you really luck out, it will take a long time for the average joe to be Linux-savvy. And this is what we are talking about, right? Linux being mainstream, right? I also work in a pretty technical workplace, and a lot of the employees haven't even heard of Linux! Sure, it's in Best Buy, and even some Wal-Mart's, but even by the farthest stretch of the word could you call the demand and usage mainstream.

Don't get me wrong, I'm only here for the best solution, for whatever I'm doing, but it's usually Microsoft. Bottom line, Microsoft provides the best tools for me right now, and I don't mind paying a price to achieve that productivity level.
