It seems more likely we'll end up with the majority of people purchasing faster service through a wired provider just like most people pay for cable/satelitte now.
Besides, there's only a limited amount of spectrum available. That may be fine for some place out in rural Montana, but can you imagine trying to provide the entire Internet bandwidth of a place like New York City with wireless alone?
You could, as described by TubeSreak, replace the patient's immune system with another which is not susceptible to HIV. Sadly, this is not possible in the majority of cases because you need a fairly good match to do successful bone marrow transplant, and HIV-proof people are rare. Maybe if we ever get the theraputic cloning and genetic engineering down we might be able to make a clone of an individuals immune system with an appropriately modified CD4 receptor (the point of entry for HIV), but a treatment like that is a long way off if its even possible at all.
Because nothing will encourage future technological advances more then ensuring that inventors can't profit from their inventions.
Not saying that this guy should be charging a 7x markup (he'd make more money through increased volume by lowering the price anyway), but there needs to be a significant potential for profit in these situations to outweigh the costs of all the R&D efforts that end up producing no viable results.
Well, Windows 7 Ultimate does support mirroring. Sadly RAID 5 support remains for server versions only. Hopefully they'll finally wise up and go all the way with whatever comes after 7.
To be fair, there MAY be some kind of cost to them regardless of what services you consume (turning on/maintaining the cable to your house, paying people to do the behind the scenes administrative stuff on your account) that the people getting cable have already paid for. In other words, a $10/ overhead for each account plus $40 for cable and/or $40 for internet.

Oops, I messed up on moderating this too. That's what I get for not browsing at -1.
