Anyone capable of installing an OS from scratch is capable of getting a web browser for it. It's not my 21st century it's everyone's - you however seem to think that more than a handful of people will be inconvenienced by this and those who are inconvenienced by it will be able to solve the problem without too much trouble because they, unlike you, aren't thick as pigshit.
By the way Windows isn't designed by one person it's designed by a group of people - isn't that a committee?
Few people do like Vista though given the poor performance on even new PCs with decent specs like mine (Core 2 Duo 2Ghz, 2 gig RAM Geforce 8600 with 512 Meg RAM). Admittedly it runs a bit better now than it did now I've reinstalled Vista but there was precious little OEM crap on it in the first place and in any case it's harder than it should be to find out if there's anything non-MS dragging the system down.
Take your head out of your ass and realise that the vast majority of Windows installs are done by OEMS and which OEM would be thick enough not to include an internet browser. How about joining the rest of us in the 21st century.
You use whatever the OEM provided. 21st century arguments only please. I wonder who's being a dumbass here - the highly intelligent court officers who can see how Microsoft's illegal behaviour has been a real detriment to an important market or the person who thinks that anyone would buy an OEM PC without being able to browse the internet.
Dell would likewise be totally retarded and not include a browser along with all the other OEM crap they put on. For fucks sake at least come up with a 21st century argument.
You're blaming a product for the shoddiness of the Windows 9x line rather than those in charge of that product. You should try explaning your position better if you want a response that suits you.
Like for example what I've tried to do in Vista now: copying my user directory to another partition so I can reinstall the POS. It only copied about half the frigging directory! Why? And why didn't it tell me the reason why it didn't do this instead of just silently failing? Does Microsoft observe users and then do the opposite of what they find convenient perhaps?
I don't hate the rest of the world, I just want to be able to pay my mortgage funnily enough. Economists and their cheerleaders are so unbelievably thick. Time to outsource their careers to India and see how soon outsourcing becomes a terrible idea.
Because Windows is already supposed to be there perhaps - or did you not see all the Microsoft publicity pretending that it is? Even though I'm now on Xmas Day creating a BartPE disk for the next time I'm asked to rescue a shambles that used to be a Windows install. People don't find WIndows easy - they just know how to do stuff through experience. Once something happens that's outside that experience they come to people like me to help them work it out.

I hear the Nostromo has a really nasty bug.
Yep Microsoft must be kicking themselves now ;-)
(Sorry couldn't resist :-) )

That sounds like heresy to me - report to your nearest Daily Mail outlet for re-education!

I haven't paid for Opera on either my PC or my phone. What crack are you on exactly?

Norway isn't part of the EU. Next please.
The OEM will put it on the PC or else that OEM will not sell any PCs. 21st century arguments only please.
They will use the one installed by the OEM. 21st century arguments only please.

You wish given that UK government IT is all outsourced to private sector cowboys.

Ah right it was the fault of the product, not the fault of the people in charge of it. It's so clear now.
They use Word and Excel's most basic features usually and feel that that qualifies them to speak for those of us who've used the advanced features.

So that's why they keep ending up with an interface that sucks for everyone.
I'm still waiting for the asynchronous I/O that some MS weenie claimed made W2K better than Linux.
Whose fault was the single user Windows 9x environment again?
Damn right. Let's get rid of limited liability too while we're at it since that's another unnecessary government interference in the marketplace.

Merry Christmas you grumpy Yankee :-)
