  1. Better Alternative - The Air Car on Electric Car Capable of 180mph · · Score: 4, Interesting

I think the Air car has a better chance of working, not only due to cost, but the licensing model as well. They will grow through selling the factories, not the cars. Check the website to see how many licenses have been sold.

None in North america, 40 in China alone. http://www.theaircar.com

  2. Didn't anyone see this coming? on Microsoft redefines Open Source · · Score: 1

Didn't Microsoft say something about changing what "Open Source" means in order to win?

After reading the Halloween docs, it's obvious that the real threat to MS is not Linux, but the whole concept of OSS. So if something like Linux is threatening your future, change the rules of the game.

Old debating tactic, "If you can't win an argument, change what it is you are arguing about!"

  3. It wont wash... on Lycos Mp3 Lawsuit? · · Score: 1

If Diamond Rio could stand up them, and win....who says that Lycos won't do the same. Since Lycos get a LOT of traffic based on this site, they are going to protect the new revenue stream. I wonder how far this will go? Will Scientology sue Dejanews, for pointing to news postings of copyrighted Scientology material? Will Bill Gates sue Slashdot, for linking to the site of the first person to copy his $720 book to a web page? (Of course who the heck would!?) Trust me, if Lycos puts up a fight the big bad bully will go away.

  4. Info directly from the M$ website on Australian Linux user gets Windows Refund · · Score: 1

    Direct from Microsoft themselves...

  5. Mirror sites? on Music Industry scores the closing of www.lyrics.ch · · Score: 1

Does anyone know of any mirror sites of the lyrics.ch server?

Wouldn't it be a shame if 12 or 100 new lyric sites started popping up all over the place????

Maybe while trying to flex it's muscles, and show the average internet user how powerful the music industry can be, it might have just awoken a sleeping giant.
