    There is no Hockey Stick when you look at the chart from 1800 to present.

    The only way you can see a hockey stick is to assume that the temps in the 40s-70s were "normal". But looking at the chart, they represent an abrupt decrease and 30 year plateau in the trend from 1800 to the 40s.

    Just looking at the chart you can pretty much put a ruler to it and draw a straight line from 1800 to now. One long, consistent trend.

    Seem more indicative to me of a natural process.

    No one was ever educated before the Education Department was created?

    The people who put men on the moon with nothing more than slide rules and drafting paper were educated without the Department of Education.

    The people who designed and built the SR-71, did so without benefit of the Department of Education.

    Oh, wait...the people at Occupy my Ass were educated after the Department of Education was created....so there ya go.

    The "education" department educates no one. It is the definition of bureaucracy, existing for the sole purpose of inflicting reporting requirements on schools and doling out money according to the political winds.

    All one has to do is consider the Alternative...some maggot lawyer driving up the cost of everything with lawsuits or writing incomprehensible laws that end up being litigated at our expense.

    I suspect it is a cost efficient arrangement to keep them working as bar tenders.

    It's a driving issue in the protests because one of the often repeated demands if the forgiveness of the loans.

    It's also a driving issue concerning the jobs because one of the stories we hear quite a bit is I have this degree but I don't make enough to pay off the loan.

    I can't imagine any kind of propulsion system for interplanetary, let alone interstellar trips not using some sort of nuclear reaction at it's core.

    What kind of Ion engine could you drive with a 500 megawatt reactor?
    What kind of magnetic fields could you generate with that much electricity?
    Would it be enough to shield the ship from radiation in the same manner that the Earth's field shields us?

    That's not a solution, it's a goal. How do you propose to achieve this goal?

    What have we heard from the Occupy crowd?
    1. Close coal plants.
    2. Close nuke plants.
    3. No "fracking".
    4. No drilling.
    5. Just to be all inclusive...give me a job paying $40k a year even though I have no practical skills and BTW, pay off my $200,000 college debt.

More hurricanes...yes, global warming...fewer...you betcha...global warming. I'm trying to think of any weather event that hasn't been blamed on global warming and I'm not having much luck.

    It's not "Angry White People Crowd".

    It's the "Paying the Freight" crowd.

    They are the ones that go to work every day and pay the taxes that allow these Occupy WTFE people to piss and crap on public property and then pretend to claim so higher moral ground.

    The Occupy crowd is asking to go to an economic system that has been shown empirically (by about 100 million deaths) to not work.
