I've got a friend who went the XLibris route, I ordered her book from them through my rockin' local independent bookstore, and *two months* later they're still calling XLibris every week wondering where the hell the book is, my friend is doing similar from her end for me and all the rest of her potential customers that they're blowing off, and I'm missing out on her book.
The only way I'd use XLibris is if you can talk them into a guaranteed order fulfillment timeframe with penalties if they can't meet that timeframe.
