Anyone ever notice how most of the world when flying over it in an airplane is just a bunch of endless expanses marked by a few buildings?

    That web address was:

    http://www.hatecheck.org/fredphelps/

Somehow hit the submit when I meant preview while I was trying to figure out how to get the web address to post as a link.

    Sorry about that.

The concept of a life style bomb becomes really scary if you know about Fred Phelps. It's clear that he would not even hesitate to use such a thing if he could get one. If you don't know about this guy then you should visit: This person is the most hate filled person I've ever heard of. He regularly goes to gay funerals to celebrate their being in hell, especially the funerals of folks murdered for because they were gay. Any time you look at genetically based weapons the first thing that comes to my mind is religious extremists, since there seems to be no place at which they draw the line in trying to force there views on the world. 4. Want to see a techie become an Authoritarian on Cyberselfish: Technolibertarianism · · Score: 1

One thing I've noticed relating to many Sys Admins. They tend to espouse a total personal liberty approach in the real world and become quite hostile towards any agency that tries to limit their behavior in the real world. Try to apply these same principles to their server and they become an autocrat. In general I find making an analogy between the computing environment and society a good way to talk with other tech folks about these issues. It's only by maintaining a certain level of limitation on each individuals behavior (resource limits and file permissions essentially) that all the users of a server can co-exist and be relatively free to pursue their personal goals as they see fit.
