    I have an iPhone, some Android devices and a Windows 8 and Windows 10 phone. I iuse the W10 device as a backup phone and I really do like it. Lots of things in Windows Phone is much better than the iOSDroid way of doing things.

    Inter-application navigation is vastly better for one, and I like the tiles.

    Read a book called "The Smashing Mobile Book Addendum"''s chapter on Windows Phone to see a good descript of how W10 phone works vs iOSDroid to see why it is better.

    Replace âseriousâ(TM) with âhigh-performanceâ(TM). 99% of the code in a video editor does not need absolute screaming performance (it is waiting for mouse events in any case).and 1% is the part that actually does the video transformation.

    Most low latency GUI stuff runs directly on the video card in any case.

    Everyone wants invisible transparent sensors and cameras with a wall-to-wall display.

    Not going to happen, so the notch is a compromise. I doubt Apple likes it either, but it is one of those laws-of-physics things you have to deal with.

    Look at a map. If Russia invades Estonia the Baltic fleet is not as bottle up as it is now, and NATO forces are much further away from the second largest city in the Russian Federation. It is of huge strategic importance to them in a war.

    The coffee lake was caused by a Meltdown of a valve in the Santa Clara Starbucks, so no, I suspect not.

    They certainly did this with the PPC->Intel change. When Steve announced Intel he said that MacOS has been running on Intel for 2+ years if I recall. Rumours to that effect had been around for quite a time.

    Hmmm. I suspect you would then also lose your memories. You would be the same physical person as yesterday but you would not grow up either.

    That scenario might make for a very interesting dystopian novel.

    Because this changes with the seasons, for one.

    Times zones came because of train accidents where local stations had their own rough idea if the time and then, em, mistakes were made. Involving colliding trains. With people in them.

    Like someone says upstairs, some places will have a business day split into 2 calendar days, for one. And everyone will be confused. Right now you know pretty much anywhere in the world business hours range between 9-5 ish. Easy to look up. This way, the confusion gets worse, not better.

    That is a good point. Did not think about that. The more I think about it the more I think the "Internet eliminates timezones" people are cyberlibertarians high on their virtual world who do not ever get out of their mom's basements, and therefore do not see sunlight.
