Small problem with the commercial use of these things. Do you really think that the Government will let the commercial world (let alone individuals) actually purchase one of these things... I don't think so... Atrox
But then there is the problem with all companies, I mean ALL, IBM and Dell included. They like to dump their old motherboards in new machines with a faster CPU so that people will buy them. So you basically get your first class Pentium on a socket 7 with a motherboard that doesn't even get close to what the CPU can handle. So much for my ranting and raving...
IBM! They have one, they have the next big killer tech secret... It is called the system-on-a-chip. And it promises to triple the speed of your computer with out increasing the clock speed one bit. The RAM, BIOS, and all available other systems are built into a single chip. With its pins being for the interfaces to the outside world (PCI and ISA, and all the other main busses.) Ahh BUT if IBM makes a BIOS in one of its machines that takes it, then they can support it. Just dont be looking for one of these things in your Dell or Sun server...
I have been preaching this same gospel all over the web. But no one listens to me. FIBER IS GOING TO EVERY HOME! If you want to talk about this topic email me at atrox@mad.scientist.com
Very funny. I AM A STARWARS finatic of sorts. READ THE BOOK you were aluding to. LOVE IT! Like to talk about it! If you are interested email me at atrox@mad.scientist.com PLEASE!!!!! Atrox A.K.A Microft
Amen brother. NASA needs to bring its "older crowd" up to speed on "new technology" and see what they can do. Just imagine what they could do with "todays" technology versus "yesterdays" technology!
AMEN BROTHER! We need something more than those.com or.net or.org specifications. That opens the door for individuals to register a name that a corporation could use. Thus the legal struggle that leaves the individual on the down side. And I like your specification of.sum, I personally like latten. But anyway, we need to expand DNS as we know it.

Hacking can be used for the good. For example: What about those poor people on the web who are being harassed by those sickoes that use their Internet connection to virtually RAPE people. I believe the best defense is a good offence. If I hear of someone harassing someone else, I will hack him and nuke his machine. He deserved it. End of statement. Call it being a vigilante, call it whatever you like. But it works.
Kinda Cool. Could use some definate improvement. I know that those LCD shutter glasses have a tendancy to give some people headaches. They could use polarization to overcome that shortcomming. AND why not all 4 sides arround the user? Plus floor and cieling? That would make it complete. Well not complete, complete is StarTrek's Holodeck!
Our very own Jon Katz just came out with a new book Geeks. Has anyone else read it yet...? And if so what did ya think about it... Microft A.K.A Atrox
