  1. Re:Give some support on CEO Shawn Hogan Takes on MPAA · · Score: 1

Back in the day, Optigold ISP was the defacto standard for ISP billing software. Don't know if things have changed (I've been out of that industry for several years) but Shawn was always around and willing to help you solve problems and he constantly updated the software to add feature requests.

  2. Shawn Hogan is NOT a typical CEO guy on CEO Shawn Hogan Takes on MPAA · · Score: 2, Interesting

My former employer bought software from Shawn way back in the day and he's not your typical suit that you think of when you hear CEO. He's pretty much a typical Slashdot type guy who lived the dream by making it big writing the best software available for a certain industry. So for anyone who thinks this is big fish fighting big fish, you are wrong. Go Shawn!

Oh wow.. The memories of the endless hours of playing tradewars games. Remember the cool stuff like the secret underground organization on the main base? Is it just me, or does anyone else think that a massive multiplayer game based on tradewars would be really awesome?

We are going to offer Wireless 1M dedicated connections in our area for $350/mo, so it is considerably cheaper then a wired T1.

  5. College Cluefulness on Do Geeks Need College? · · Score: 1

It probably depends on how clueful the colleges in your area are with technology. In my area it's not real great, so I am keeping my job with the local ISP as system's administrator.

  6. Clueless writer... on "MP3 death watch" article on CNN.com · · Score: 1

but I kind of agree with what he was getting at, that MP3 the format isn't as important as what it does. Then again, that should be kinda obvious. If a couple of years down the road a new format appears that offers better quality at smaller sizes, then everyone might switch over (as long as it isn't proprietery). Until then though, MP3 will be here to stay.

  7. Uses Python on Linux-powered car MP3 Player · · Score: 1

Cool... The webpage states that it uses Python extensively. That means that it should be really easy to hack up the software to suit your individual needs. :)
