Please correct me if I'm wrong, but it is the legal right of an individual to create a single (i.e. at most one) backup copy of a DVD once purchased.
If not, then I'm going to be in shit for using handbrake to save my own movies to my own hard drive, with no intention of sharing a single one of them.
I agree completely, and for that reason I can't wait until FIOS comes to my town.
While they do offer a plan at $145, it's for 50 Mbps down, 20 Mbps up, and unlimited usage.
A quick google search shows that dimmable CFLs are definitely still available.
They do tend to have a limited dimming range (10/20% to 80/90% brightness), though this is solved by cold cathode CFLs. They don't generally need specialized switches, just ones made within the last 15 years.
