How can one have a *mathematical argument* for the US electoral system?
Game theory says that no system can be perfect - although some may be better than others in particular circumstances. The decision is a matter of politics, and just because a mathematician argues one way doesn't make it a *mathematical argument*.
BTW, here in Ireland we use STV, and it works quite well. But then we have more than two parties...
