I think Microsoft security should be praised. I mean, how long has Microsoft been high-ranking on the scales of hacker's hate list? It seems to me that they ran a tight ship that has finally been damaged. We'll see if it sinks or not...:-)

The files you thought you deleted (i.e., your browser history, old highschool love letters, and other such atrocities) never really go away. In fact, alot of times they get printed on WAN printer on the other side of town!

The logs for your server can never, ever, be re-constructed. Even if it was you who accidentally erased it! (don't tell your boss there was no hacker!)
Well, better a Linux variant, not a Windows one! Just think... your applicances crash, and what do you get? Burnt toast, sour milk, lots of static, maybe even a huge load of really soapy dishes! Oh, and make sure you have good security, or you might wake up in the morning to cold coffee and think, "Those darn hackers!!"
