I agree, have done a few compulsory classes in PT where they helpfully provide the HRM and associated watch so you can exercise and remain in your target zone, the monitor nad the watch can be given a wipe over with a towel after a wash off but there's no way the elastic strap is ready for use even after a wash off - I see no problem in providing a strap for personal use.
If this had been around when I was in school, good fitness habits may have become ingrained a lot sooner and when it would be easier to maintain, instead of now as a 40+ old git!
