I totally I agree.
I come from the Broward County school system too. They are a joke. You are exactly right they move them around and wait until they screw up again and than move them around some more.
Plantation high was a joke.
Are you kidding me?
Everything now a days is moving from the charged and payed to the free and for everyone.
Youtube is a great example of that, the freedom to express yourself in whatever way you want. Isn't that what the push is now a days? Open source programs and all that noise?
If youtube starts pricing there might be a rebellion among internet users all over the world.
Where are the mothers and fathers???
The moms in the PTA in my high school were vicious, they would have surely ripped the teachers head off if he didn't get fired and probably the principles too for letting him stay.
This is out of control, it doesn't matter what the board can do and what the regional blah blah blah said and what the union defended.
I had some bad teachers in my day and yes it would have been nice if they had fired them. But my bad teachers just were not good at teaching a subject or something.
These teachers abusing their rights like that should be fired faster then they can add 2+2.
In my college I have had easy professors and hard professors. Old school professors and innovative professors. I had some classes where everything was only and classes that everything was on paper. I don't see why not have computers for testing. Testing has become this huge topic of discussion.
We are really forgetting what testing is. It is a way to find out how much someone knows about a subject.
Ok. Lets go from there. Having a test on a computer gives you access to a lot of information at your finger tip. So does open note tests, we all remember back in the day, the open note tests were the hardest.
Ok so they have all this information at their hand so eventually they will be able to find the information they need to pass a test. Just like old times when it was all books you put a time on it and that is it.
You wanna make sure that the person is the person that is supposed to be taking the test you put a digital finger impression at the door, the kid wants to go to the bathroom, no problem scan out and scan back in. Easy!!!
So really the place where you write/type the answer changes but the test is still the same, this is too much talking and not enough action.
We are in the 21st century. Yes! Kids should be using their laptops for exams.
