Nobody expected yet another election where the losing candidate gets the most votes. And to add insult to injury Trump received the third worst vote margin in all of US history, yet he already acts like he has a mandate by making some very extreme announcements and decisions. Such as supporting Ryan's plan to phase out medicare.
I don't know if I'd ever call a winning margin the "third worst" of anything.
Hillary Clinton won 300 counties while Trump won 5000.
I think this exemplifies just well the states have been gerrymandered. Seriously, the majority of people vote for one person but the lose by a 3:50 ratio?
The states have now been gerrymandered. Oh dear, that was funny.
Uhm, if you're calling a consistent budget surplus and healthy economic growth a "fucked up state" then I shudder to think of what you call "success". Detroit, perhaps?
California is lucky they're on the coast. They're lucky the Pacific Rim is on the other side. The Dems constantly mismanage their resources by CA is inherently a rich state.
If you think that the election of a nation should be swayed by a handful of cities
"handful of cities", otherwise known as the majority of the population.
Your argument is that people that happen to live in the less populated parts of the USA should have a greater say over its policies than people who live in cities. Why should this be?
Nowhere near "the majority of the population." You may want to recheck your population & voting stats Sparky.
There are many reasons why a straight popular vote is bad and the electoral college is better but the best one I can think of is what happened in the recent election. Hillary Clinton won 300 counties while Trump won 5000. If you think that the election of a nation should be swayed by a handful of cities while the rest of the nation is completely ignored, well, you're an idiot.
For months before the election, the MSM & Hillary supporters hammered about how Trump & his supporters wouldn't accept the results of the election.
Now that Hillary has lost, her supports can't accept the results. Death threats to electors. Riots in the street. Offering the pay fines for electors who break the law. MSM story after story about how the circumvent the will of the people. Jill Stein taking donations to force a recount where even she says that there was no fraudulent or illegal activity.
No, I'm referring safe spaces. No, I'm referring 63 genders. No, I'm referring to people being sick and tired of being called racist if they happen to disagree with Obama. No, I'm referring to people being sick and tired of being called a homophobe if that don't actively support 100% everything that "the right" gay leaders support. No, I'm referring to people being called a bigot and every other name in the book if they aren't completely caught up with the PC jargon du jour. No, I'm referring Democrats paying mentally ill homeless people to start fights at Trump events. No, I'm referring to yearly proclamations of global warming being irreversible in twenty years for the past forty years. No, I'm referring that there hasn't been any global warming temperature changes in almost twenty years. No, I'm referring to rioters who can't handle that their candidate lost an election. No, I'm referring a business that tells his employees to quit if they voted for Trump. No, I'm referring to Democrat leadership actively favoring a candidate. No, I'm referring to the DNC chief being forced to step down because of that unethical behavior and then being immediately being hired by the winning candidate. No, I'm referring to the next DNC chief caught colluding with journalists by passing on a debate question. No, I'm referring that DBC lying about it and then having proof that Brazille passed multiple debate question to Hillary.
I can keep going on, but I'll stop. This is why Trump won.
It's funny how these conversations always take place after the Democrat loses.
In 2000, the conventional wisdom was that Bush would win the popular vote and Gore would win the electoral college so there was article after article by liberals in the summer of 2000 on why the electoral college would matter. Google it.
The electoral college prevents politicians for completely ignoring 90% of the country and focusing only on the few really big cities. It also prevents voter fraud happening in one area affecting the entire election because it limits the damage done by voter fraud.
The electoral college idea was genius and there is a reason why the country is not a democracy and why we don't elect presidents via popular vote.
Meh. Cordless charging just means an extra buck on my utility bill every month from the efficiency losses.
I'd gladly pay 3 cents a day for built in wireless charging. I had it with my windows phone and it is a wonderful feature.
And screen resolution is already so high that it exceeds the average human eye's ability to see individual pixels, so raising it won't improve things noticeably.
While the 5s has a "retina display", it certainly isn't 1080p or higher. I'm not asking for for more pixels just for more pixels.
The biggest breakthrough Apple had with the iPhone was TouchID. Everything since has been a better camera and it runs faster. The problem is my 5s is plenty fast and the resolution is more than good enough.
Once cordless charging gets to the iPhone and the resolution goes above 1080p, then that's a game changer. Once the screen goes to OLED, that's a game changer. Until then, my iPhone 5s is plenty fast with a great screen.
You should. Apple chargers are incredibly over-engineered to protect against many problems. If you want to trust your expensive iphone & ipad to cheap chargers, you feel free. I won't and I buy extras to use for other devices as well. Here's a teardown & explanation. http://www.righto.com/2012/05/apple-iphone-charger-teardown-quality.html
But that's just a guess. Of course that being said, Netflix is cutting back their shipping hubs. Those fuckers axed the one that was next day away from me and I have to use one a state over that takes 2 to 3 days each way.
I honestly don't care if I'm modded down, but @jack has turned twitter political with his editing and banning conservatives while promoting his own political views.
@jack is an asshole and I hope karma catches up with him one day.
Mankind's biggest problem is over-population and unsustainable resource depletion.
Bull. The planet is no where near over-population. Not even close. The only reason ANYONE starves on this earth is 100% political.
"Resource depletion" is bull also. How often have you heard "We're going to run out of oil" and other such poppycock.
Global warming deniers never can answer the following in any logical manner: Is CO2 not a greenhouse gas? Is man not releasing very large amounts of CO2? What negates the effect of CO2 in the atmosphere as a greenhouse gas?
Yes, CO2 is a greenhouse gas. "Very large amounts" is relative. If I pour a quart of piss into your water cooler, that's a large amount. If I pour the same amount into a state reservoir, it's doesn't matter. We live in a closed system. The environment changes to deal with changes.
Arctic ice was supposed to be completely gone by 2016 and there's more now that when that prediction was made.
Environmental doomsayers have been making these claims for decades. They have all been proven wrong.
Global temps haven't increased in sixteen plus years.
Manmade global warming is bullshit. At least they are getting smart enough to push the environmental disaster to 50 years away. There's less accountability that way.
Don't get me wrong. Reducing pollution is a good thing. But to constantly declare that it's the end of mankind unless we do something RIGHT NOW is exploitation.
Not kidding. When I was in specialized military training program we saw crazy looking dude with a unkempt uniform and absolutely no personal hygiene. We made a couple snide remarks amongst ourselves and later mentioned the guy to an instructor.
He told us that the guy was from Saudi Arabia. He also told us that every foreigner in the school always passed. A few years back, he didn't specify how many, a Saudi officer took the course and failed. The government beheaded him and apologized to the school.
So, good job Reddit. If he had a family, their probably gone as well.

Nowhere near "the majority of the population." You may want to recheck your population & voting stats Sparky.
And why should Alaska and Wyoming with its over-privileged voters should decide how California runs?
Trust me, no one decides how California runs. That fucked up state is fucked up due to its own ideology.
For years before the election, Trump and Trump supporters hammer about how the Electoral College was the worst thing to happen to democracy. [1].
So "Trump and Trump Supporters" can now tweet on Trump's twitter?
A single tweet is now "hammering?"
You may want to rethink your argument there Sparky.
The vote of each state.

People are getting tired and realizing how much time and money stupid shit like this actually costs.
Imagine that. Drinking pure sugar can raise the risk of pre-diabetes.

The problem is to get all of that I have to use android. Don't like android. At all.
I think Windows Phone has the best interface out of all of phone OSes, but apparently very few agree with me.
Except 99.999% of people can't resist saying "See this? Looks real, right? I got it for $5."
