A lot of people go "They won't do it, China is 1/5th (or 1/6th) of the worlds population!"
Google can have the other 4/5ths (or 5/6ths). No Internet company started in China will grow outside of China the way they are set up.
Let them stew in their "secure" system they put in place. Put your efforts elsewhere. When you gain the rest of the world - then China will obey Google, not the other way around.
Oh, and the "Timer" he used for his security shutdown program that he starts at the same moment he starts his watch, is just the Stopwatch application. Oh fun times!
No, this has absolutely nothing to do with Dinosaurs, but there is a scene where Nedry is on the phone with a "video feed" to the docks.
If you look closely now, you can see that the video feed is just a pre-recorded video playing in whatever video player was offered in the early Mac Versions. I wouldn't expect anything more, given the era the movie was shot in, and to the untrained eye it would appear pretty cool.
But anytime I watch that part of the movie now, I just chuckle.
They plan on taking 9 year olds and putting them in bright yellow 1 man spacecrafts with a paylod of missiles and some laser capabilities.
They will then land/dock with the ISS, accidentally fire a pair of missiles, and return to Earth. There will then be a parade with a ridiculous amount of confetti.
But theres no B's or L's in "Instant service Pack" - How did you manage to spell it at all!
Seriously though, with our latest shipment of computers to come in from Dell, we got the Windows 7 upgrade option. We generally just run XP and aside from the SINGLE vista and about a dozen NT/2000 machines across the company, we're all pretty standardized on XP. This will be my first time having to go through a big OS Switch across the entire company. (I am a youngin' an' all)
We know that other companies abide by that "Wait till SP1 rule" so now a bunch of clients are going to start using Windows 7. We do alot of sharing of Spreadsheets, PDF files, and of course emails with our clients, and while we don't anticipate any problems, I have a feeling something will come up. We also have some people who VPN from home to access certain resources. We have enough trouble trying to support the people who use their Macbooks at work. Not because of disdain, but because Management is too cheap to get us ANY machine with ANY Mac OS on it. So our familiarity with it is a bit off.
So now we're going to upgrade one of the new Dells to Windows 7 and test it out. We looked at the Beta once or twice last year, just to get a "feel" for it. We're hoping to pick off any problems a mile away before the become problems. I can't imagine why, but if Windows 7 doesn't work with Exchange on Server 2003, I might just rage quit my job.
Isn't that the way its been since like... Windows 95?
I haven't had to manually enter an IP since I wanted to port forward. Does Windows 7 automagically know which ports are needed for incoming connections, and set that up on your router or modem?
The only extra step to Wireless setup that I can think of was specifying what kind of encryption you are using (AES2 etc) which I understand can be confusing to new users, has Windows 7 taken that part out? Just enter the key and go?
I remember from my WoW-times, that killing Ragnaros or Lady Vashji (which were only small endings) for the first time was vastly more satisfying than any other game ending. Small endings does not mean small satisfaction.
CU, Martin
But there were times when those WERE the big endings.
In fact - if you played a Human when WoW first came out, you had a fully fledged solid storyline. Little people realize this - but the very first questline takes you all the way up to Onyxia! You start in your starter area doing this and that and then he tells you to go here. Then you do the quests there and they tell you to go somewhere else. If you follow those around, and READ the quest logs, its actually a decent storyline.
Then the one that everyone knows is the Onyxia chain quest (which is the longest chain in the game, still, I believe) felt like World 8 in Super Mario Bros. You are in the final stretch. If you can get through this, you'll be at the end. And then Onyxia is like Bowsers castle. And once you downed her - that WAS the end of the game for you. You kept on playing, but there wasn't anything harder to do. It felt satisfying because you know it all started with the Defias Gang in Northshire.
Especially since they've determined the target of the attacks were the gmail accounts of human rights activists.
Doesn't it seem just a LITTLE odd that the Chinese government would want this information, Google knows someone wants this information, and the attack originated in China?
I don't blame them for threatening to pull out, its likely that whoever attacked Google was on some form of Chinese government payroll. Over or under the table.
Does this include executables? New Malware channels INDEED. I know a whole lot of people who wouldn't know what an extension is, besides pushing back a deadline.
A cell phone is like a refridgerator (figuratively, not literally). It's sole purpose is to be passively doing its job (recieve incoming calls) all the time. I turn it off when I'm in the movie theatre. Otherwise, I expect it to ring.
I do however, unplug it like I do the rest of my electronics:P
I highly recommend this to everyone who has to pay an electricity bill: Unplug your appliances.
I have saved over 60% of my electrical bill by following the simple process of unplugging everything when its not in use. The only 3 things that remains plugged in are the Fridge, Stove, and the alarm clock. The Television, sound system, game consoles, all that is on a power bar so its easy to just unplug the power bar. The laptop, computer, microwave, toaster, all that stuff can be left unplugged when I'm not using them. I even do it for the washer and dryer. It is only inconvencing yourself like 3 seconds max, and after a while you get used to it.
I heard someone once say that your electronic devices still use 80% of their power consumption if plugged in, even while not in use. I think that number might be bogus, but I do believe that they still use power, even when not used.
Point is, you can save alot of money by unplugging.
There was an article a while back about a phone battery that is able to recharge itself by intercepting the various radio / wifi waves in its Antenna to generate a current. (Still in development, still not efficient)
I'm not sure if they mean "Energy Wasted in signal broadcast" means they want to reduce the whole broadcast in every direction as far as you can idea - or if there is some other process they plan on using to reduce the energy usage. In any event, I don't think the issue is with too many radiowaves flying through the air, I think its not harnessing the ones that do.
over the presumed dead Phoenix Mars Lander on the surface of the planet and listen for what the space agency called possible, though improbable, radio transmissions.
In other words, since its presumed dead, they're listening for the PULSE Beacon!
But you just wait till YOUR favourite animal becomes commonplace for a sexual innuendo.
It happened with Pussy Cats, and Beavers. Even Puppies. Soon Snakes will take off.
Thats why I've decided to become a fan of plankton.
If you think thats how babies are made - we need to have a talk...
I think everyone has realized that by now.
Do you realize just how crazy it is that we've been to the moon?

I don't know what inspired them, but its genius.

Banning Youporn bolsters the red light district.
I have read your comment like 5 times today and I couldn't figure out why that would be modded funny.
I -JUST- got it. Very clever.

Whenever I go to view mine it always comes up to 0.
Which either means that the system doesn't work, or my computer can majestically use the internet without any bandwidth cost at all.
Either way - if they complain that I go over, I'll just take my printscreen and be like "NO I'M NOT. LOOK!"

To enable the firewall you simply put a red brick in front of the port.

I assume they are using Base 10.
OMG IPv6 Is bad cuz it uses more bits so more electricity has to flow through the wire which is not very green!!!!!

I don't see how a rocket with a payload of nothing but dollar bills is going to get us any closer to Jupiter.
