  1. Re:Don't worry about airport security...no, really on Portable Desktop Computer Case HOWTO · · Score: 1

No but they can call the Police officer who stands no more than 100 meters away, and they can still do a citizen arrest, until the police can come by. Same thing goes for shoplifters, and if you get violent, that is shove the security officer to the floor, you are in really bad trouble.. ;-)

I don't buy it, did this firm really check all those MP3's if they are remixes the users shouldn't be blocked. You can get people to download files consisting of /dev/null with napster.

It's always legal to take an article and rewrite it, you don't have to pay any money for that, it may even be ok with novels. You just need to change the grammar abit and use some other words.

  4. Re:My Friend had created such. on Are There MP3/CD Player Combinations? · · Score: 1

That's a very stupid design CDs can only contain 99 tracks, that means you have to have songs over 6.5MB to make them all fit on the CD. AD conversions seems like a pretty bad idea to.

Minidisks are already lossycompressed. There should apperantly be little gain in using MP3 encoding.

  6. Detection, probably a child play on KeyGhost Security Keyboard Records Keystrokes · · Score: 1
They say you can download the "keystrokes" with a simple program running on either Windows or Linux, this means that you could run a deteasdction program, can't se any reason why a ordinary Viruschecker wouldn't beable to handle it. So most capable sysadmins could check against this tool.

But put a little customized Bluetooth chip (no broadcasting) in that one and you have a nonconspicious way of downloading data. And it wouldn't be detectable from the computer. /emj

Those are to smart, and expensive (they cost about $200) but they do have ~100h batterylife, and that LCD.

I can get a very cheap computer by just adding $100, I don't understand what the point of these would be if you don't make it very cheap.

    $50 : LCD
    $10 : Keyboard (PS/2)
    $30 : Memory

PIC and PAL equals Tetris. This could be used in a serial->PAL thingy..

PIC->LCD pretty ok (BASIC STAMP),if you just need the display, has been hacked to accept ps/2 input (no links)

I just know this has been done before, maybe by the same guys but back then it wasn't a commercial site so I can't say really.

  10. Personal Ad Blocker on Live or Memorex? · · Score: 3
What you see isn't always the real thing, Steve Mann wrote an article in LJ about something i he called mediated reality. Where you would wear a pair of glasses which could filter out things you didn't want to see (ads), you should go read the article in LJ instead, I don't remmember much about it.

It seems like Mann has done pretty much research in WearComp, If some want to know more just visit his homepage, or Unv. Toronto.

  11. Re:Technology faciliting Censorship on Live or Memorex? · · Score: 1

Well I hope you know that news without any opinions was very rare in the old days. It was only until some one (newswire agencies) thought of the great idea to sell articles to several newspapers, with diffrent political opinions, that it came very important to have a broad selection of news that was objective. It's always been muddled and probably always will, but don't think it's just alittle muddled.
