I think the concept has some potential. How about some thing other than hunting. How about patrolling the streets of Fallujah with a rigged unmanned HumVee from your home ? Real life Counter Strike anyone ?
The concept sure is interesting. Couple it with a DARPA challenge HumVee and soon it would be like playing real life Counter Strike. Patrol and shoot from your computer..NICE !
I remember watching an episode of "the secrets of the dead" which showed people who were exposed to the plague bacterium during the 17th century, developed an immunity towards the HIV virus.
Apparently there are descendents of those who were exposed to the plague among us who are immune to the virus.

.. or do you find yourself saying "Control-Z" in your mind whenever you find yourself making mistakes while not sitting in front of a computer..spilling a glass of milk...etc
Using a sound card is fine for low frequency applications. A probe for the sound card could be
made by soldering two wires (one for the input and one for the ground) to a regular sound card connector (which can be obtained from radioshack).
Another way would be to buy a cheap DAQ (data acquisition card). Although I am not aware of any "cheap" ones.
Personally, I would buy a second hand scope from eBay, be sure to buy one with good bandwidth (anything greater than 50MHz would be ok for normal applications)
By the time I am finished with this comment..someone must be making a distribution based on MacMillan !! Instead of dishing out countless distributions, why can't these people think of some original idea. Afterall what we get is the same packages..in some sort of packaging format. How about helping people who are already into making distributions and helping them in porting to different platforms.
Trusty 'ol HandyBoard
68HC12
Lego Mindstorm
8051 development board
Good 'ol Parallax
There are also chips/development boards from Microchip (manufacturers of PIC series of ucontrollers) and Atmel.
Most of the above DO NOT come with motors, sensors, base, wheels etc. However, these are not difficult to find at a nearby hobby shop.
For a little more challenge, get a DSP board (TI, Motorola, Analog devices etc). You can get a good new/used one for pretty cheap from eBay

Any insider information as to when these cards can bought at a local Bestbuy ?
I wonder if the timing of the news relates to the recent protest against dune buggies and other desert games.
