My favourite author. Ever. It might intrest you that about 85% of Futurama's plots are directly inspired by Lem (Star Diaries, mostly), and you will find his Ideas present in many other science-fiction.
His more philosophical works are worth a look too, especially "Summa Technologicae" and It'S follow up "The Technology-Trap". There's even a Doctor of Philosophy offering "Lemology" for fun in Bochum, Germany...
