If you have a glance at statistics on the net for plane crashes, it is very difficult to have the right facts. But you can have one thing: very very few crashes are due to computers, most of crashes are due to human faults. Moreover, if you want to compare Boeing and Airbus, then it is quite impossible, it seems that they both have the same crash rate. Those are so difficult to analyze because you have to compare planes and companies and number of flights and number of hours flying and etc and etc.
The guy who made that first post really didn't think even one second.
