My Father who has been in the heat and air biz for 30 + years told me of a very new and exciting thing called "heat pipes". They where developed by NASA as a replacement for heat sinks. They are basically a sealed pipe half full of a liquid and half filled with that liquid's vapors. You can use water or R12 it depends on the amount of heat being moved. When bottom of the pipe gets hot it ups the pressure of the vapor on the top of the pipe and the vapor condenses Heat pipes are said to be 1000 of times more affective in moving heat as the best heat sinks. The only draw back is the pipe needs to be upright the condensed liquid needs to be able to run down the pipe to the bottom end. Laptops might be a problem. Right now they seem to be mostly used for Dehumidifiers http://www.heatpipe.com but they now are being used in other things even electronics http://www.norenproducts.com/newindex3.html I hope this can make fans less necessary and CPU's faster. if it will work.

It is sad but true we wanted to weaken Iraq's army and we wanted them out of oil rich Kuwait, But we still needed Iraq to be a buffer to Iran. This is one of the reasons we still want Iraq weak but not too weak. As for Husan I feel it would have been politically good to get rid of him but there is no way of knowing if the person who replaces him would not have been as bad. We had a very large number of ground troops on the ground and over the border. We had the ability to destroy the whole Iraq army every last tank and truck if we wanted to. It would have taken maybe an extra 4 or 5 day a week at the most but then we where not ready to do in IRAQ what we did in Germany in 1945 after competently destroying the German army. That was out goal in WW2 not to get Berlin or Hitler but to end Germanys ability to wage war. After wards we stayed for 50 years to defend it against a potential invader. SLAPP stand for Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation. A term used in Political Science and Journalism circles. What /. is going through with Microsoft is in my opion A kind of SLAPP. It is a way of suppressing free speech by suing people to censure them selves. Moving to another country to stop this is a very good Idea. Corporations do it all of the time. Veri Sign use to sell encryption boxes out of Israel back when was illegal to sell it out of the US. This kind of thing simply works. They can still get you if you are really sealing and impacting their bottom line, but the process is greatly complicated by going over international lines. The Idea is that it is not worth all of the effort for something as non-impacting on the bottom line like someone's embarrassing speech. What everyone wants is to be free of the harassment of big corporations that use the fact they have almost unlimited resources to sue and most people and many small companies live paycheck to paycheck. This means that most people and most small companies will do exactly what the big company wants. The Idea is that 99% of the time it never gets to court. And if it does and you win? So what!!! It cost the corporation almost nothing while you are now faced big legal bills. This may be OK if you are a real criminal stealing from them but it is another when it is about your free speech they don't like. When this happens it is a SLAPP clear and simple. This is becoming the preferred way that corporations deal with speech they don't like. Normally when it is not too blatant they will pull some kind of agreement you may have with them. The click through "contract" Microsoft has for example. But most of the time they don't even bother. They do this because it cost them almost noting to do it. It is just too easy and works too well. They pay for the lawyers anyway. To protect your self you need to make it as hard and costly as possible. Make them have to heir a lawyer in that country. Make them have to research their laws. Take way the DMCA and you will find the number of SLAPPs will drop. If you have a country with a real press that will expose corporations that harass people you will see SLAPPs really drop. Don't know where the best place would be but Great Britain and the US are among the worst. I would look at places like New Zealand, and Australia, Finland for starters. We should have a rating system for countries for SLAPP violation somewhere. Remember it is not about copyright law it is about stopping SLAPPs.

  21. Re:implementing this in other areas... on Electronic Valves For Diesel Engines · · Score: 1

Quick note on diesel engines and High-pressure Direct Injection fuel injectors. All diesel engines have direct ejection this is to say the fuel is injected into the combustion chamber during the compression cycle in a standard 4-cycle piston engine. This is not new or different in any way. You can not remove the intake value at all unless you use a cylinder port were the piston it self acts as the value as in a standard 2 cycle piston engine. There are some 2 cycles as well as 4 cycle diesel engines that do this but the 4 cycle ones use a super charger to do the pumping of the intake air. None of this is new it is in fact very old technology. The things that everyone is trying to do and is new is to make an gasoline engines that works as the diesel engines do with High-pressure Direct Injection fuel injectors. This is so you can run much higher compression ratios (the amount that the air in the cylinder is compressed) and boost. The higher the ration the more power you will get out of the same amount of fuel. Normally this is about 8 to 1 on a gas car. Some high performance gas cars will run cars will go up to 10 or 11 to 1 only race cars with very high octane leaded gas will run 12 .5 or 13 to 1. The problem is a condition called detonation. When the heat of compressing the air will ignited the fuel before it is ignited by the spark plug. This premature ignition is very hard on gas engines and can harm an engine in some cases. It is often referred to as pinging. Direct Injection fuel injectors solve this problem all together by injection the fuel only at the right moment so it can not ignite too soon. Diesels often run compression rations of 20 or 30 to 1 all the time they also can run much more boost than traditional gas engines. So if you can get much higher power out of a much smaller engine. The problem is that it is very hard to make a high-pressure injector that can inject gas with out the lubricating properties of diesel fuel. The solution is to use ceramic parts in the injectors. This works good still is in the refining stage. To get to the point of what I like to call programmable value timing the ability to have a computer say when to open or close a intake or exhaust valve. This has been a Holy Grail in the industry for many years. We now can control the fuel ejectors the spark in real time with software, but not valve timing. Valve timing is one of biggest problems with putting a small engine in a car. We can have big heavy cars that run really well with small very high put engines that sips gas. But to do this you end up with an engine that has great power from 5.000 to 12,000 rpm and almost nothing at low rpm to get the big heavy car started from a dead stop. This is why motorcycles often have well over 100 horsepower 750 cc engines with 12,000 rev limits and cars don't. A motorcycle is light enough that it does not need all of that low-end power. What determines this is the value timing and with a camshaft this is set and does change. Some cars like the Honda have the Vtec variable valve timing but this mechanical and is limited. With programmable value timing you can change when the vales open how fast they open when they close and how fast in relation to the crankshaft and in relation to the intake and exhaust values. And this is all controlled in software. VERY VERY COOL. Is like having the best of all worlds. The engine can be at its best valve timing for its rpm and load. Why in a diesel and not in a gas car. Diesels run and much lower speed. Reline at 3,000 to 4500 rpm max depending on the engine some even lower. It is easier to do. The other ways to get over this problem of needing so much power just to get a can moving compared to just pushing it down the road at speed. Is to have an engine that has almost no low-end power all of the power on the top end like an motorcycle engine and have a electric motor help push the can to a start. This is a good solution and is available with today's technology. The other solution is to make cars very very light. So you don't have all of that weight to push around. This also can be done but the materials are more expensive and are not often seen as a good solution even though you can get and Audi and a Loutis made out of lightweight aluminum, instead of steal. Very fast cars.

If the government can run and maintain a standing Army & Navy as required in the constitution with out income tax It can get by with out taxing the NET or cars or what ever. Why does this not happen today? Simple, the amount of money needed is too great for the behemoth government we have now, and it is not going to get smaller without a lot of effort.
