    blah blah blah...

1984: Apple's new computer is a toy! They've bet the farm on a graphical user interface. Nobody will use it! They're doomed!

Every year since: They're losing market share to PC vendors and Microsoft's OSes.. they're doomed!

The PowerPC chip sucks! Oh, wait, maybe it's actually a much better design than x86...

2000: The PowerPC is acknowledged by just about everyone as being superior in most respects to x86. Apple is coming out with the first true consumer-usable *NIX OS. They also are making kick-ass hardware that people enjoy using. They're doomed! The sky is falling!

Good point about the lack of WO books. It's always bothered me, too. Here's the thing, though, that you might throw at your boss: just because there are dozens of books out for ASP, does that make it better? Only now are we starting to see some good PHP books, but PHP rocks! It's easy for any C/C++ programmer to use - a programmer's previous knowledge is enough to jump-start rapid PHP development. That's the way it is with WebObjects. We're starting to get involved with WO development ourselves, and the most exciting thing about WO to me is that it doesn't box you in. You can develop in Java, WebScript, or Objective-C. You can pull from and send to any data source known to man. Business logic and app logic are completely separated. Develop on NT and deploy on Solaris and vice-versa with no problems. If your boss is at all interested in avoiding lock-in, remind him that the ASP route leaves you completely reliant on a range of Microsoft products, where with WO you can swap databases, server OSes, and objects as you need to. One more thing - in addition to the big-name commerce sites that they can talk about, WO is being used ALL OVER D.C. on big government projects, tying data from disparate sources together in ways that are saving massive amounts of time and money. Apple Enterprise has proven themselves with a lot of big-money, massive government projects that actually work and were built in some cases very quickly. USPS, DoD, Commerce, Treasury, etc. Hope this helps.

I went through the entire site, including the white papers. I looked at the actual Java code. Not a lick of ActiveX anywhere. Whomever posted this anonymously is either smoking crack, working for M$, or both. Robust Hyperlinks is pure Java.
