I had always thought that a baby's cry was genetically designed to be one of the only sounds that humans could not ignore or tune out (for obvious reasons). If cell phones all rang with a similarly grabbing sound, it wouldn't save lives, it would piss me off even more and force me to join the other mallet carriers.
