I assume he means that he's been there X amount of years. Most jobs in US you start with 2-3 weeks vacation, after 2-5 years you get another, after 10 years you get 5 weeks a year, etc. When you're ready to retire, like my dad is, and you've been working 30+ years, you have a lot more "built up." If I remember correctly he gets 12 weeks of paid vacation a year now, which imo is outrageous. Then again, he's part of a good union, and those types of benefits are quickly disappearing.
I have Fios 20/20. My entire family are MacBook Pro users, why should I pay the same for my internet service WITHOUT free WiFi as those who get free WiFi just because they run Windows? You can damn well bet I'll be calling every day and sending letters every day until I get a discounted rate for now being "allowed" to use all advertised features for some bunk reason. I would hope others in this situation would as well.
Definitely agreed, just replace it. My parents are stubborn and stuck in their ways so when I switched their computer to Linux, and switched their browser to Firefox, I just found themes that matched what they had before. This was probably about a year ago, the only thing they noticed was the "odd arrangement in the start menu." To this day I still throw out the random "you should switch to linux/you should use firefox, and they still say "it won't work for me."
While I do agree with that policy, you've got to admit she's at fault. You can't expect the government or it's agencies to guide you through your entire life, if you can't even walk down the road without falling through manholes, you're truly in trouble. Not to mention she was texting, so the fault is at her own.
Think about it, say a teen is driving in their car and decides to shoot off a quick text. She goes off the road down a hill that had no guardrail and slams into a tree. How is it even remotely ethical to then sue the DOT because they didn't put up a guardrail?
