Wow, just wow.
An open source project shows some signs of problems and the MS zealots jump all over it.
If only we went off just as much when a closed source program that people use goes down the tubes.
I know i bit the troll but seriously, this is the bullshit the people actually swallow now days?
Are they not ideal as they don't transparently switch between internet sources or the amount, overhead or is it due to the client side setup (How they get configured)?
I ask as someone who has never had a large SIP service.
Concersations is still on fdroid though it foes not appear to o have any voice function, just media send (photo, audio clip).
For voice I would not even use xmpp, wrong tool for the job.
Asterisk us the way to go for encrypted VoIP.
You would be horrified at what academics will use just to make sure they they do not need to learn anything outside of their field.
I swear most of them have blinkers on.
I was wondering if it because i am on linux, weird it would replace the download links for windows installers on the "additional download options" just because i am on linux.....unless they think i intend to run it via wine and the "value add" software is not compatible.
Thanks for the info, great to see you are trying to turn source forge around.
weird, any more info on this? just checked the download links on the filezilla home page [https://filezilla-project.org/] and everything was pointing to source forge.
Have been using it for years, hope they are not going down the tubes.
Does anyone have any suggestions for a linux based alternative to filezilla?
I personally use Ghost commander.
I beleive it is free in googles playstore.
Don't have playstore? You can get it from the fdroid web page https://f-droid.org/repository...
Also install the samba plugin (free)
Not sure where you pulled that number from, oh wait, yeah i do.
Install distro from pen drive - 15 Mins.......
update && upgrade (Only reboot once:P) - 10 Mins (Depends on internet connection, also my ISP has a repos which is free data)......
launch "additional drivers", select graphics drivers (proprietary nvidia for me) - 10 Mins (Depends on internet connection)......
Any further software that needs to be installed will be the same with any other OS.
Already has tons of software installed, ready to go.
Any other software can be installed using command line (my favorite) or using one of the various included "app stores" (Ubuntu Software Center for example)
Very rarely do you need to spend more than an hour to get a modern distro up and running.
Err.....you forget that windows needs drivers as well, while it does cover a lot there are many people having issues with installing windows 10.
More often than not linux will just work, rarely do i experience issues with drivers.
Another thing, normal people do not install windows themselves anyway, most of the time they get a friend, same as you would with a linux install (only the bar has been moved to a more accessible point since license costs do not impede experimentation).
The problem is you pay for software that you then have modify/hack to get it right, and then fight the OS just to stop it from spying on your.....getting your monies worth for sure/s
I have been using Owncloud for a couple of years, it works so well across different platforms due to the Caldav/Carddav standards.
I initially just wanted a local provider for my contact and calendar sync since moving away from GAPPS but quickly realised it is a full replacement for googles syncing services.
Web mail interfaces are only really good for quick responses, horrible in a phone screen.
If you want to write a really nicely formatted email you use a client.
IMAP keeps all clients sync'ed so what ever you do on one is the same on the others.
So, does it look at things like the screen on log like what the battery section under android uses?
I can imagine there would be last activity timestamps on the running processes as well.
I currently use vultr.com, have found them nice and reliable.
The cheapest full VPS they have is $5 for 768MB Ram & 15GB ssd.
If you only have a small user base you can get away with hosting it on a home/business connection using DynDns's dns while using the updater client on your server.

Far out, sorry about typo's, big hands, small screen

They are known as blinkers in other parts of the world. Assuming your lingo is the only lingo, don't change /.
Try deleting an old access point that are you not in range of, requires a user to go command line......on a touch screen interface.....

Just messed with the user agent string, now i see it....sneaky.

It is amazing how some windows fans consider 'installing drivers' as a bad thing for all OS's except for their own.

AdAway if you have root, available on f-droid
So true, it almost like people don't having options
Happy t-bird user here, have been for years

Any android developers have any input?
Sorry, i meant to say $5 Per month
This.
Reduce the requirement/dependency for 3rd party server to be involved
