For reference port 4567 is listening on the OUTSIDE interface...the side that faces the internet.
This came to my attention some time ago when I decided to switch from Comcast to Verizon. I did a tad bit of research when I was in between jobs and kept a blog on my adventures with port 4567....that CAN'T BE DISABLED. There are ways to keep verizon from spying on you and illegally entering your computer network.

Cracking the password hash was trivial, although it took me a little time until I found several other folks had already done it.
