to do something stupid to screw everyone. I wonder if all our data production codes will have to go through some audit in the near future. Considering how these codes are often written ("domain science" beginning graduate students) and supported, it will be a disaster.

    What a load of bollocks.

I am from Russia and I follow many debates between the right and the left. That line about "diminishing country XXX influence in the world" is one of the most popular among "patriots" who insist that whatever the members of government are doing is right.

You see, you can't be half-honest, just as can't be half-pregnant. Although the politician's work is not to be righteous, they have to be kept responsible for dissolving people' trust into the political system. It is sad that they have to have a real threat of their scheming to be disclosed to keep some decency. Thinking that by keeping the public in the dark they win credibility is just pathetic.

image? It appears adding this information so that it does not obscure details but is quite difficult to remove may deter whoever from going public with these images. If you find your picture in web and can find out who saved it, you can potentially sue a lot of money from TSA. At least, when an officer performs a search he must wear his badge, and for a good reason. I do not see why operating these scanners should let any officer be anonymous.
