Major f*ck ups, notably a contractor like Accenture which wasted about a billion £ on failed centralised database projects (Oracle?). Anyone else? Lets name and shame those useless IT contractors. This is public money flushed down the toilet!
I thought CAs were a regulated business, just like financial, accounting or law firms, i.e. you have a duty of care, doing your job properly? If not, I foresee lawsuits...
However i play this certifcate game in my head, i find that we need CAs. The ones we got are simply not fit for the job and the govt needs to revoke their license.
Isn't it sad how this is the plague of our tech industry? Fakers (or MBA schmucks) with no innovative ideas or passion for technology usually get the top job... *sigh*
For the past 4 years, I've been complaining about their crappy Comment system (& spam). Such a waste, 200 to 1200 willing participants (depending on the subject matter) and Yahoo still relies on a slow-to-update, pre-Web 2.0 comment style system. It's as if those morons are unaware of how easy & fast it is to comment on Youtube videos. Is it so difficult to replicate that?
Am glad Carol got the boot. She was completely useless at eBay and now Yahoo... i hope she never finds a job in the tech industry!!
My thoughts exactly. Am sorry but what is that suppose to mean "a foam missile counter-attack?!" I remember friends picking PhD title by using a simple Combination function on the set {statistical, genetic algorithm, bayesian, theoretical, neural network, logic, reasoning, inductive, design, probabilistic, integrating, non-linear, optimization...} Is life totally meaningless now?
I remember when news broke of a user tracking software (Phorm) built right into the ISP's servers (BT). No BT broadband customers were informed of such online tracking and there was no opt out (later on, a cookie opt out and then trials ended). UK law officials/regulators did nothing to punish BT: CPS: We won't prosecute over BT/Phorm secret trials!
It makes some sense, next time don't be afraid to post under ur username... Fileserve membership accepts Paypal and the main credit cards. As far as I know, this website hosts copyrighted movies. I've also seen the DMCA link but surely their Admin must know that when a 700 MB file has been uploaded, then there's a fat chance it's an Xvid or Divx movie.
Oh well, had a good run with HP, time to sell all my shares before prices reach the holy nought.
What you are describing here are peasants of the IT/Tech world, and you are absolutely right.

Deep!
Compile once, next thing you know, MS is launching a new app bearing great similarity to your program.
Well, we definitely need a measure of output... Maybe am daft, but how about FPS achieved for X millions textured triangles or polygons [with shadow]?

I agree. "WTF" is the correct response to this article.

There we go again... Is this the correct chronological order of ascension to evilness: Microsoft, Apple, Amazon...?
I guess it's time they experienced their own "Florida" style voting scandal.
Month 2 - "Ummm... due to high volume of fake tweets from anon accounts, we made a massive loss. Net growth: 0."
Method for putting spoon in mouth...

Can't Samsung use its political connections to block iPad in the whole of East of Asia?
I guess there isn't really much to do in the Shetland Islands!
Well, you know what they say about waking up a dragon...
People should get a vote on where their tax dollars go. [usual rant].... This is becoming ridiculous!
Amen!
The way those patent wars last, i think you'll need a really big bucket.
