I recently completed a project to OCR many 10s of thousands of technical documents. I ended up choosing TypeReader. I have to say that TypeReader beat the hell out of every other OCR program I found. It was extremely fast, extremely accurate, had a bunch of output formats to choose from, and offers a batch mode that worked wonders for what I had to work with.
I believe I have the ISOs for all three RedHat 4.x releases. I'll check when I get home. If I do, I'll put the ISOs up and pray I don't get slashdotted. I'll reply to this comment and let you guys know.
My coworker told me about this deal weeks ago. I gave in and got one. I was expecting it to take a long time to process my order, but to my surprise I received it in only a few days. It is fun to play with, so I think I got my $5 worth.
The little remote works well, and you can download the Windows software from their web site. The software worked fine for me, but I had to put it in "Compatibility Mode."
I'd definately like to see a Linux version of the software that I could run from cron. I could have it turn on my Lava Lamp automatically! I don't do alot with serial port programming, but I can't imagine this would take much effort.

I HIGHLY recomment TypeReader!

Okay, I've got RedHat 4.2, 5.0, 5.1, 5.2, 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, and 7.1.
I've also got Slackware 3.4. I can't find Slackware 3.3, 3.2, 3.1, or 3.0, but can keep looking if anyone is interested.
