  1. Re:Perfect solution (I think) on The Dark Side Of Napster · · Score: 1

That sounds rather utopian. Chances are that Napster will probably get shut down and the recording companies will go back to business as usual. (Besides.. if people can get somethign for free, they won't pay for it. Why else would the Free Internet services pop up and become popular? ) How much different is trading MP3 files then when we were copying tapes and such, or making our own custom mixes on a tape? None at all. (Except for distribution size) Napster is an agent that allows people to host their own files or trade them. The same basic idea has been ran using FTP Servers (and still is) and BBS System for years. (Now we're getting down to warez and I'm straying.) People every day try to find things for free. If one way closes then another will be found. Perhaps a company in a non-extradition country would start up a data-trade server where no other countries can persue legalities affecting the server/business. P.S. In concideration of other posts which bash mainstream music and such: I believe that all music is good. Different people have different choices in music, if it be rock, techno, classical or jazz. Who cares if it mainstream or not. It's just music. They do not put 'mind control' on you and force you do listen or buy CDs. We have a choice in what we want to do and that is called freedom.
