Hmm, this sounds like flame bait to me. Excuse me but who sent you a V5 to make such an an educated assumption like that?

    >Transformation and Lighting......image quality at the moment.

You seem to regurgitate what websites have been saying for months very well. On-board T&L is a great feature developers should take advantage from, but in the future, right now fillrate is more important with games currently available. And games are what ultimately drive the PC industry.

    >the V5 will suck ass compared to the GeForce in games released a year from now.

Hey genius, the project cycle for these 3d card companies is to pump out 2 new card every year. Considering that games like Quake3 and Unreal Tournament don't really take strong advantage of on-board T&L, and will be the most used engines in games to come for the next 2 years. T&L is almost a useless feature presently where anti-aliasing is very pretty and reflective shadows and lights makes a much better environment to play and to view.

Overall I think both cards are great. I think both companies are great at what they do. I for one am sick of all this "xxxx wil suck ass. The yyyy will rule the xxxx" I think T&L is as over-hyped as the T-Buffer.

    My $.02.

Man, you should've purchased the linux version man, at least this way you could support support cross platform gaming, since gaming is seriously what drive's stuff like 3d acceleration, and projects like Xfree 4.0 which works to provide faster 3d for *nix users. Plus if you like quake by any chance, you at least get the tin box. I'm not trying to bash on you, but I would wait another 2 weeks to at least support the OS I use the most. My 2 cents only.

  3. The Reality of Emulator's and it Scene on Open Letter to the Emulation Community · · Score: 1

I congratulate Panix on a very well spoken arguement he proposed dealing with the UltraHLE issue. I myself have beeb follwing emulator scene for a few years, and its growth has been plague by warez pups for the simple reason that ROM images are illegal, and when you give some create a tool to execute that unlawfullness it is to be expected. I'm sure Panix has downloaded several roms in the past and doesn't just slobber over open source and technical acheivements in emualtion. So Panix, you are a criminal too. In a situation where we try to attempt to betray our own human instincts and execute the right decision we simply fail. I would like allude to this phrase to help better educate Panix on this topic: "Why make a nuke bomb, if you're not going bomb communistic countries with it?" Its truly as simple as that. UltraHLE was written to play N64 ROMS illegally. The authors knew it, and public knows it, and I want some illegal N64 ROMS to play with.
