Microsoft sees the Playstation 2 as a huge threat. The average computer user plays games, surfs the web, and sends e-mail. The Playstation 2 will do all this, all without any Microsoft software. The Playstation 2 could be the often predicted "Information Appliance" that finally takes off. The X-box is nothing more than an attempt to keep customers away from the Playstation 2. The future of the X-box is silly, however. Will the X-box play Diablo 2? Of course. But I've already got a computer that will do that so why should I buy the X-box? I won't. The Playstation 2, however, will appeal to many people that want to do the things they usually do on a computer - but without the computer.
