hahaha, i also didn't read the post. to disambiguate, i was responding to the question in the title. shutting down hospitals is bad. i'm in favor of cyberwarfare in the sense that it could have better precision than a missile, and we're already the targets of foreign cyberattacks everyday.

  4. been there, given up on that... on Is There a Linux Client Solution for Exchange 2007? · · Score: 1

I spend a day every 2 or 3 months trying to hack away at the evolution exchange plugin to get it to even work with my exchange 2003 install, which used to work for me (in ubuntu 6.10). I wouldn't have a problem using OWA, except when you use OWA in firefox, there doesn't seem to be any search functionality (talk about crippling a user interface), so it's useless other than checking for new mail.
I'm very happily running outlook 2007 in virtualbox, running in seamless mode. It gives you access to all the functionality of your exchange server, and in 2007, the (near instantaneous) search feature is even better than in evolution.
I am, however, looking forward to a maturing openchange, so we'll see what that brings.

This is what I want to know. How does MS plan to get people to buy into this? How are computer manufacturers going to react when they have fewer, more expensive options for building their computers. And what would make the average consumer see in it? How many people are really that worried about people reading their documents that they'd be willing to give up things like copying CD's, burning mixes, etc...

You say that you want to encrypt your emails so that the government can't snoop on you. However, i doubt any system sophisticated enough to find, store, and process almost every e-mail we send cannot handle cracking an encrypted e-mail. I'm sure this applies to their keyword searching too. You said you want some simple encryption method that everyone can use, but that clearly wouldn't be enough if it's the government you are worried about. If you're so worried about what the government is doing with your e-mails, my best advise is to stop sending them.

The next thing for the, of course American, astronauts to figure out is how to make a bong without gravity. I mean, you don't want the water to float into your weed and ruin it, especially because im sure its hard to find up there. Also, what would happen to the bubbles, they would pop and you would end up inhaling a whole bunch of microscopic drops of bong water. I think they will need a little more creativity than they did with the table.

People mistake usability and putyness too much. There are many window managers for X that emulate a windows or mac environment, but the ones that really succeed are the ones that are more efficient and usable, like gnome and kde. So if you really want something to look like windows or the mac, start workin on one of these projects, dont ask microsoft or apple to do it for you, cause look what happens.
