One of my hobbies used to be IRC, specifically the Undernet. During that time the undernet volunteers that run the network discovered that eNow was using the network for their service without prior permission or discussion with the undernets administration. I made contact with eNow and requested they not use the network in their service as all of Undernet's resources are donated and in my personal opinion I didn't think it was "right" for eNow to generate revenue from our loyal users and the resources donated by 40+ organizations around th world...especially when those organizations made no direct profit from the IRC service they were providing. At any rate, eNow willingly suspended using the Undernet as one of their networks for the service, however that was some months ago and I have since resigned nd don't know if they currently use it. The best advice to avoid this is to A) Avoid IRC and search newsgroups B) Use IRC and just use your head...IRC is Internet Relay Chat...just because you are on n IRC network it doesn't mean that the information on that network is not relayed somewhere else. C) Interact with humans. Really...many of them are quite informed../iamabot aka SnApDaD@undernet.org
I am dotcom of borg. Resistance is futile, you will be assimilated. Unfortunatelly just because a company is supportive of it's local environment the company does not reap financial benefits. Surely you realize that the industry is not necessarily friendly...sometimes being the nice guy does not pay off...often it doesn;t pay off if you are in the technology game. Doing the business in the valley may be pointless in your perspective but there most definatelly is the funding and gathering of skills to promote the growth of technology. That isn't to say it's a good thing or the only place where this can be found...but it's often the most recognized../bot
This is interesting. Cisco appears to be making a strong push into all segments of networking hardware. Most notably (from my experience) the access router market, competing with RedBack to be the access concentrator solution for emerging CLECS and broadband providers. Now the real question is will Cisco be innovative or just buy the technologies they want, and how much worse can their Sales Engineers get?
Because script kiddies generally are not the shiniest coins in the fountain and are quite fond of bragging to any who will pretend to listen.
They are only in major channels anyway, #chatzone, etc.

Been trying every few hours over the weekend, still haven't been able to get registered. Anyone else have any luck? ./bot
Hrmm, fitting that ICANN is not /.ed to some effect.... "...Database overloaded..." ./bot
They each have their strengths. Cisco makes good core equipment, shoddy access routers. MS makes good marketing plays, somewhat shoddy software.
