I have to agree that Snort is not nearly dead. The team at Sourcefire is working to improve the capabilities of both the open source Snort and the commercial product. With the integration we have put together with NTOSpider (web application security scanner) where NTOSpider is able to generate custom Snort rules for web application vulnerabilities it discovers, this can make Snort a reasonable Web Application Firewall (when in block mode) for accomplishing virtual patches to completely custom web apps. As the Sourcefire team continues to push integration and the Snort rules format to other complimentary technologies, I see an interesting level of advancement on the horizon.
"Our loyal customers and market standing speak for themselves."
So because your market standing is good, means that of course you couldnt be guilty of any of this?
"employee growth (Foundstoneâ(TM)s attrition rate is below the industry average)"
Foundstone has about 120 employees. Last year about 25 or so left. That seems rather high, so I guess the industry average is higher than I thought.
"From the very beginning, NTO has vehemently objected to full discovery, even though they proclaim innocence."
So NTO should have opened all their door to your inspection because you said so?
"To demonstrate Foundstone's commitment to protecting the commercial use of other software, an independent, 3rd party audit was completed on May 2"
According to the article: "The trade group, the Software & Information Industry Association, informed Kurtz by letter in May that it intended to pursue copyright-infringement charges against Foundstone."
So after they had been informed of a complaint, and then got word from the SIIA they very quickly jumped to clean things up.
"In our experience, having performed numerous software licensing audits"
I am a big fan of sci-fi and was very excited about this show before it actually aired. I have watched each episode in hopes of finding a TV to enjoy. This hasnt really happened. The only really good episode is the one where he relives how they all got together. That was an engaging episode, but the rest have really sucked and been quite boring. I hate to admit it but John Doe (the following show) has been more interesting.
I was called shaitan, I cant remember the name of the guild anymore, even tho I was a Prince. Yserbius was awesome in its day. I have often wondered where all the other Yserbius players have gone to for their fix. Im sure they are scattered about and have run into one a year or so ago on IRC.
Man those days when it was such a small community will never happen again. The net is just to large now.
This movie was so bad, that I couldnt even leave because I had to hold out and just hope that the movie would redeam itself at some point. It never did, and during the last hour or so it found a way to get worse and worse every 15 mins... it was literally painful and ruined 4.5 hours of my day. 2.5 watching it and 2 more trying to recover from the horrid event

Ok, before I get flamed for a dumb mistake in using the title "Worst movie ever" and then in the comments putting it 2nd. Basicly "worst movie ever" is more catchy... also at the last minute I did decide that Battle Field Earth was worse... but by such a narrow margin....
The initial part of the movie was interesting and explored several moral issues involved with such technology. It had my full attention. Then the movie abandoned that plot completely and ran of on 500 tangents without exploring any of them to any extent. And when you start to pray that it will end on a given note.. it goes on and gets even worse... then you think your suffering is FINALLY over, and again it continues and finds some way to get worse yet. I put this as my number 2 worst film, beating out Water World and a close second to Battlefield Earth
As mentioned before, the
OGS Project team would be interested in being the gatekeepers of an open sourced OpenMail.

I have put the word out thru the Computer World channels that the OGS Project would be interested in continuing development of OpenMail if they would open source it. I spoke with the Computer World reporter on the phone and she is going to contact the powers that be at HP to see what their stance on opening up the code is like.
Wish the open source community luck on this one. It would be a great product for free software/open source developers to take over.
He blamed the fact that our society is such that kids can have their hearts turned black by simply going on the internet. It could have been by whatever means, but due to the involvement that these students had on the internet with their website, it becomes a focal point. Not the blame.
This is the reason that Bush doesnt blame the guns. But they are part of the tools that were used in the action these boys took.
By trying to deny that the internet was used as an intrument in the tragidy is foolish.

Very well said.
Agreed, I tried a BUNCH of solutions before settling on this to keep my 3 computers in sync
NTO Response to the Fortune article and Foundstone response.
What statements in the article are misrepresented?
None of real impact are from what I saw.
