Once again, please forgive me if I am ignorant. This will be my new slogan I think. But, when anything is released for beta testing, don't you have a waiver to agree to that says you will not share out any of the information? And in theory, wouldn't that make the person who was doing the beta testing responsible, and not Macnn? Yet, everybody knows that the guy who decided to get this stuff printed doesn't have anything to sue for, and that's why Adobe can't blame that poor fool. Is it just me, or is everyone getting a little high with the internet lawsuit bandwagon?
I obviously have nothing blatantly new to add to this topic since I have read all these posts which make me feel like I am lost in a nerd maze. But, from an idiots view...I expected more. I of course have your basic crt, so anything on these cleatypes is a loss for me, and I am sad about that. I would be so happy to have something that helps the headaches and blurred vision I get from spendig my life in front of this screen. I couldn't care less who's company developes, rips off, or copyrights it. Anything to help my poor failing eyesight would be welcomed.
Wow, I really really like this idea. Want to find a company? homepage.company ( why I don't know) But it does seem like it would do wonders for organization. The whole cyber-squatting thing bugs me anyway. I like things neat and tidy. I hate trying to locate something by name, and after numerous searches, it comes up as mysterious letters and numbers. I hate having to copy and paste! I know, I am starting to ramble about utopian pie in the sky......but wouldn't it be nice?
Well, hear I go, spilling my guts for all to see. I have spent hours following these comments. I have nothing new, or different to say. Well, not much....But this is honesty time. Copyright Schmopyright. I don't know where most of the crap I collect comes from. The fonts, themes, programs, games, pictures, music......and on and on. I don't even care. I unzip stuff, and toss out the read files....My computer doesn't have enough room for that extra garbage! If you put it on the net, it's gonna be shared. Some folks have actually gone to the trouble of making it hard to copy their stuff. Kudos for them, I don't steal it then. Someone commented on not loosing their couch. Well, then don't leave it on the sidewalk. When you put something on the net, it's like leaving it on the sidewalk. I do not believe you can control what people do with your "stuff" after it leaves your hands. If you don't want to share your toys....keep them in your toy box!
Simply put, I don't think you are going to see a great surge of on-line novels. I am a great Stephen King fan. I avoided the on-line book. Somehow I didn't think having the floppy on my bookcase would look right. I love books, the way they smell, the fact that you can carry them to bed. And I am a little sad that I will miss out on this book, because I am also a collector of King. But once again, that little blue floppy would look funny next to my first edition Carrie. And it would not smell nearly as nice....
