  6. Criticism on Red Hat Helps Fund EFF · · Score: 1

I wonder if Redhat will get negative criticism for helping fund the Writer/Editor of 2600 Magazine. Being that Hackers are those evil insubordinate people who launch DDos attacks on Yahoo and Ebay?

  7. John Markoff on Slashback: cubans, crises, code-dependency · · Score: 1

John Markoff, just thought some people may want to know, is the renowned defamist of Kevin Mitnick. He contributed to the prosecutors false allegations and wrote an incorrect book portraying Kevin Mitnick as a "Cyber-Criminal". read about him, and hopefully discredit him..

  8. Agree or Disagree on Microsoft vs. Slashdot Update · · Score: 2

Ill be honest i'm not really sure how this would be done, and most likely not how to do it..But lets say someone were to in some way manipulate this Microsoft *.exe that u had to download to view the agreement, and had altered the Disagree button to allow the person to view the document and the Agree button to quit the program. (Im guessing the end of the liscense agreement says By clicking the agree button u agree to the terms listed above and vice versa) Then legally you,by hitting the aggree button, wouldn't be aggreeing to comply with their "limitations" and therefore everything they were requesting would not have to be met?..Or by manipulating the program you are responsible, ..?..maybe for allowing this to occur they would be considered ignorant, and they are responsible?

  9. Plant on UK Building Eavesdropping Infrastructure · · Score: 1

/.The British government probably let the information out on purpose, and most likely have moved onto a deeper and more "privacy diminishing" project. They have been involved in the Echeleon project for a long time. Searching for keywords in emails and phone calls (in theory) for years. They then would share the information with a huge NSA database in some underground place which stored the information for all the countries involved. (I believe they were New Zealand Britain and US)...well its old news./

Good idea, especially if you want your lawyer to forget which Musical Artist is sueing you this week. -With people currently buying artists cd's to play in their car, and the artists making money, do u expect them to be happy when half of those"ex-cd" buyers have now bought a $600 piece of equipment, to play music they created, for free, and no profit. If i were an artist i would be thoroughly pissed off, and if the idea does get somewhat popular the record companies will to.

  11. Tale of 2 Botanies on Why The Future Doesn't Need Us · · Score: 1

I guess this is a kinda late post, and many people who might have benefited from this, will unfortunately not. BUT! if u buy the new Wired or visit site and read the article after Bill Joy's, The Tale of Two Botanies. It talks about plagues that could easily end our society, either done as a terrorist act to wipe out a section of the world, or as a way to destroy civilization. And with the new creation of "Golden Rice" (read the article if u dont know what it is) it will be eaven easier to alter one's genetics through simple foods. Foods such as rice, which i believe are eaten by almost if not more than 50% of the world population daily. hmmmm....The end is near? heh

  12. Security on Cracking Military Devices · · Score: 1

Security, although always been a issue, has now become a main stream problem. There are many security "firms" out there to attempt to secure whatever devices are being used. Although you would think the military would have taken care of this? If i ever hear of anything involving a computer "hacker" infiltrating the US Armies military equipment, the next time you'll see me will be in Zimbabwe.
