Orbit, really? Cool! Somebody contact NASA/ESA/FKA and tell them that you can now orbit the Earth while only travel 30 miles!
That has to do with the size of the object, the bigger it is the longer it takes to cool off. Most meteors are so small the they've cooled off by the time they hit the ground.
